As I research and look at low poly art more and more I am becoming intrigued as to how it came to be, so I have been reading articles about the history of low poly art.

For me, I feel that by obscuring an object in a photograph with a low poly style it is conveying a sort of mystery to the viewer about what the object means about the photograph. If a person is holding or wearing an object that is obscured with low poly then it might be harder to grasp what the object is. This makes the viewer think more about the object, as well as the person, in the photograph.
I also would like to explore manipulating a photograph on the 3d surface as well. I feel that using embroidery to change the look and meaning of a photo is something I would like exploring.

Thoughts
While looking at my previous work that I have produced in my darkroom, alternative process, and digital photography classes I see a common idea of meshing photos together. I like to shoot people and places, such as a persons environment and what they like to do. Then, I like to use what I have learned to represent them in a new way.
For a final project in a darkroom photography class I used a 120 Holga camera to shoot double exposures of people and nature. I enjoyed shooting and making prints for the project quite a bit, and have always liked the idea of putting two pictures on top of each other to create new meanings for both of the photographs.
For a cyanotype project in an alternative processes in photography class I put a photograph of a nature landscape on top of a photograph of my own body to create a new meaning for the photographs. I feel that creating photos like this has strengthened ideas and creations with fine art photography.

I have combined portraits with geometric shape in an alternative processes in photography tintype project. I found the newer, edgy photograph made with a tintype structure to be thought provoking.
This semester, I would like to learn lighting studio techniques on how to shoot successful, stunning portraits and still lifes. I would like to explore manipulating photographs more as well. In December during winter break I experimented with making a low poly portrait. I enjoyed the process and result of the low poly portrait and would like to explore the concept more.
